These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern access to and use of the S.S. Education platform and related websites (“Platform,” “Services,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) by parents, guardians, and caregivers (“you”).
S.S. Education is a California sole proprietorship doing business as S.S. Education (DBA). References to “S.S. Education” mean that sole proprietorship operating under this DBA.
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to this Agreement and our Privacy Policy.
1. What S.S. Education Is
S.S. Education helps parents understand school documents and prepare for conversations with their child’s school. The Platform provides educational information, document summaries, suggested questions, and planning support.
Features may include:
- uploading and storing IEPs, 504 plans, evaluations, and related school documents;
- AI-assisted plain-language explanations and summaries based on the documents you provide;
- suggested questions and possible next steps for school meetings;
- planning tools such as notes, meeting prep, and letter drafts; and
- related parent-support tools we add over time.
The Platform does not replace legal advice, medical advice, clinical diagnosis, professional advocacy services, or decisions by a student’s IEP or 504 team.
2. Who May Use the Platform
The Platform is intended for adults (18+) who are parents, guardians, or caregivers using it for their child or student.
You agree that:
- you are using the Platform for personal, non-commercial family use (unless we agree otherwise in writing); and
- you will not create an account for a child to use independently.
3. Free Access and Future Paid Features
The Platform is currently offered free for launch.
We may introduce paid features, plans, or limits later. If we do, we will explain pricing and any material changes before charging you. Optional paid features will not change the core privacy commitments in our Privacy Policy about not selling identifying parent or child information.
4. Not Legal, Medical, or Clinical Advice
Outputs generated by the Platform—including AI-assisted summaries, suggested questions, possible next steps, letter drafts, and planning materials (“Generated Content”)—are for educational information and parent-support only.
S.S. Education does not:
- provide legal advice or act as a law firm;
- provide medical, clinical, or diagnostic advice;
- act as your attorney, advocate, clinician, or school team member;
- guarantee that a school will take any action; or
- guarantee that Generated Content is accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your child.
You agree that:
- you will review Generated Content before relying on it or sharing it with a school or anyone else;
- you remain responsible for decisions you make about your child’s education; and
- the Platform supports—not replaces—your judgment and conversations with qualified professionals and the school team when needed.
5. AI Limitations
The Platform uses artificial intelligence and automated tools. AI systems may:
- produce inaccurate or incomplete information;
- omit important details;
- misunderstand context; or
- suggest steps that are not a good fit for your situation.
Generated Content should never be the sole basis for legal filings, eligibility decisions, medical decisions, emergency decisions, or formal disputes. Seek qualified professional help when those situations arise.
6. Your Responsibilities and Upload Authority
You agree to:
- use the Platform only for lawful purposes;
- upload only documents and information you have authority to provide (for example, as a parent or legal guardian);
- keep your login credentials confidential;
- review Generated Content before relying on it; and
- notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You are responsible for:
- the content you upload and enter;
- how you use or share Generated Content; and
- confirming that information you share with a school or others is accurate and appropriate.
7. Privacy and Sensitive Documents
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information.
In short:
- we treat IEPs, 504 plans, evaluations, and related school documents as sensitive information;
- we use uploaded documents to provide the requested analysis and support;
- we do not sell parent or child identifying information;
- we do not use uploaded student documents for advertising targeting; and
- we may create and use aggregated and/or de-identified information as described in the Privacy Policy, including for limited commercial uses that cannot reasonably identify you or your child.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- upload unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, or infringing content;
- attempt to access other users’ accounts or data;
- interfere with Platform security or operations;
- reverse engineer or copy the Platform except as allowed by law;
- use the Platform to train competing AI models using our outputs or systems; or
- misuse the Platform in a way that harms others or violates applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of this Agreement, security concerns, suspected misuse, or conduct that creates legal or operational risk.
9. Intellectual Property and Your Content
S.S. Education and its licensors own the Platform—including software, interfaces, branding, and related intellectual property.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Platform as allowed by this Agreement.
You keep ownership of the documents and content you upload.
You grant S.S. Education a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and create derivatives of your content only as needed to:
- provide, operate, secure, improve, and troubleshoot the Services;
- generate outputs you request; and
- create aggregated and/or de-identified information as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not claim ownership of your child’s IEP or other uploaded records.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, S.S. EDUCATION DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, AND ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS, THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
11. Mutual Release and Zero Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- THE PLATFORM IS A FREE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT TOOL PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
- S.S. EDUCATION ACCEPTS ZERO LIABILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, GENERATED CONTENT, SCHOOL OUTCOMES, LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND—WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE—EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE PLATFORM IS US $0.
- YOU AND S.S. EDUCATION EACH RELEASE AND HOLD THE OTHER HARMLESS FROM CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR THIS AGREEMENT, EXCEPT FOR CLAIMS BASED ON A PARTY’S WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OR FRAUD, OR CLAIMS WE MAY BRING FOR MISUSE OF THE PLATFORM, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY INFRINGEMENT, OR YOUR BREACH OF THE ACCEPTABLE USE OR UPLOAD-AUTHORITY RULES IN THIS AGREEMENT.
If a court finds any part of this section unenforceable, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent still permitted by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability waivers; in those places, this section applies only to the extent allowed.
12. Your Responsibility for Uploads and Sharing
You remain responsible for content you upload and for how you use or share Generated Content with schools or others. If a third party makes a claim against S.S. Education because of content you uploaded, your misuse of the Platform, or your sharing of Generated Content, you agree to cover the claim to the extent permitted by law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct or fraud.
13. No Guarantee of School Outcomes
S.S. Education does not guarantee educational results, IEP or 504 outcomes, school district actions, service delivery, or dispute results.
The Platform can help parents prepare. It cannot promise what a school will decide.
14. Account Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end access if you violate this Agreement, if we need to address security or legal risk, or if we discontinue the Services. If we discontinue the Services, we will provide reasonable notice when practical.
15. Electronic Acceptance
By creating an account, clicking to agree, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read this Agreement and agree that electronic acceptance is binding.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Except where prohibited by law, courts located in the State of California will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of this Agreement.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update this Agreement from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
18. Entire Agreement
This Agreement and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and S.S. Education about the Platform and replace prior agreements on the same subject.
